Aarti Sarwal, MD, FAAN, FNCS, FCCM, RPNI- Professor, Neurology, Wake Forest School of Medicine. She is an neurocritical care physician with significant experience in program development, education and quality improvement. She is board certified in neurology and neurocritical care ( UCNS & ACGME) with specialty certification in clinical informatics and neurovascular ultrasound. She has build the neurocritical care program at Wake Forest School of Medicine and has held the roles of section chief, medical diirector. She is the fellowship director for Neurocritical Care Fellowship , co-director for the Undergraduate Medical School Integrated Ultrasound Curriculum & Assistant Director of the 4th year medical student POCUS Elective at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She is the Director of the Neurovascular laboratory at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She is the Social Media Editor for Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care. Her personal research interest focus on use of neurosonology for assessing cerebral hemodynamics, point of care applications of ultrasound in the intensive care unit, intracranial hemorrhage, diagram ultrasound and ventilator induced muscle dysfunction. Her professional interests include enhancing use of social media and informatics in academic medicine to improve patient and provider experience.
