Christopher “Kit” Tainter, MD, RDMS, FACEP, FCCM is a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Critical Care at Cooper University Hospital. He is board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Neurocritical Care, and Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine, as well as Critical Care echocardiography and Basic Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography. Dr. Tainter graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, followed by medical school at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed an Emergency Medicine residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, concurrent with credentialing as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). He then worked as the Assistant Residency Director and Medical Student Clerkship Director at the University of Oklahoma Department of Emergency Medicine in Tulsa, OK, before returning to fellowship in Anesthesia Critical Care Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. He then worked at the University of California San Diego, where he was the ACCM Fellowship Director, before moving to Cooper. His professional interests include Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, resuscitation, education, and point-of-care ultrasonography and echocardiography, about which he has co-authored two textbooks.
