Halden F. Scott, MD, MSCS is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and a physician and Director of Research in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s Hospital Colorado. She is focused on improving diagnosis, early resuscitation, and systems of emergency care to improve treatment and outcomes in pediatric sepsis. Her research has been funded by NIH and AHRQ, and has addressed the early, undifferentiated phase of sepsis in children, seeking to improve diagnosis through clinical and laboratory findings, predictive modeling, and clinical decision support. At the health system level, she has studied the translation of pediatric sepsis guidelines into practice in general (non-pediatric) Emergency Departments, local, and national multi-institutional settings.
