Leopoldo Segal is an Associate Professor, the director of the NYU Lung Microbiome Program, Director of the NYU Langone Translational Lung Biology Laboratory and the Associate Division Director for Research in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Segal received his MD degree from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina. Dr. Segal’s research focus on microbial-host interactions in the lung mucosa through the use of culture-independent approaches to study microbial communities. Dr. Segal’s research is currently funded through grants from NIH, FNIH, ALA, and AACR, among others.
