Current mainstays of therapies in the treatment of pediatric VTE and appraising the evidence behind interventional approaches for children with high risk VTE and pulmonary embolism will be discussed. Newer pharmacologic anticoagulation therapies such as direct oral anticoagulants and use of these agents in the pediatric population will also be discussed.
