Pain is the most common symptom reported by caregivers of children and AYAs with SNI. However, because children with SNI have impaired cognition, communication, and motor skills, the cause of pain is often difficult to identify and treat posing a significant challenge for clinicians. This session will outline common pain behaviors and review the common pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies for paroxysmal sympathetic hyperactivity, chronic neuropathic pain, spasticity, and dystonia.
