New international guidelines on pediatric extubation were published in 2022. These guidelines will be presented by the authors, with a moderator who was not part of the guidelines committee.

Evaluate different types of spontaneous breathing tests (SBTs) and their relative benefits and risks
Evaluate other assessments of extubation readiness beyond SBTs
Review the literature pertaining to predicting, preventing, and treating post-extubation upper airway obstruction
