This session will explore the optimal technique of tube thoracostomy, specifically when a pigtail catheter can be used instead of a standard chest tube and when a smaller tube can be chosen over a larger tube. The evidence behind these recommendations will be presented. A pigtail catheter placement technique will be incorporated into the discussion.
