Recurring ethical challenges, team and family conflict, and resulting clinician distress can threaten the quality of care provided in the pediatric cardiac ICU. Innovative Organizational Ethics Teams can collaborate with Pediatric Heart Centers to develop proactive policies and procedures to help navigate predictable ethical challenges as they arise thereby minimizing impact and improving care experiences for patients, families, and staff.
