This session will provide an overview of the most current evidence and novel approaches to the management of diabetic ketoacidosis and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state, thyroid storm, myxedema coma, adrenal insufficiency, and adrenal excess in critically ill adults.

Identify critically ill patients with a variety of endocrine emergencies
Recognize the consequences of severe hypo- and hyperfunctioning endocrine organs and the biofeedback mechanism in critically ill adults
Select appropriate pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments for endocrine emergencies
