As intensive care professionals become increasingly involved in donor management, it is imperative to apply the same rigor to the care of organ donors that is applied to the care of living patients. Standardized practices and guidelines regarding early identification, details of death declaration, ethical considerations, and complete critical care of potential organ donors are essential. This session covers all aspects of identifying, declaring, and managing the potential organ donor in the ICU.
