Advances in the management of liver failure in children include advanced diagnostics and improved understanding of the pathophysiology of multiorgan failure in children with improved outcomes, both with and without transplant. However, there still remains a subset of patients for whom liver transplant might be contraindicated or interventions such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation might not be indicated. This session will address the futility of some of these interventions and the judicious use of resources. Engage on social media about this session using the hashtag #SCCMSoMe.
