Dr. Rodgers practices as a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner within the Pulmonary Critical Care service at Lovelace Health Systems in Albuquerque New Mexico. She has over 45 years of clinical experience. She practiced as the first acute care nurse practitioner in New Mexico. She has lectured extensively at various national conferences on trauma, critical care, and acute care topics. She is extremely active within the Society of Critical Care Medicine. In 1999, she became one of the first non-physician instructor for the FCCS course. Currently, she is a consultant and director. Moreover, she has been involved in the revision of the 5th, 6th, and 7th edition of the FCCS book and has also been active in the development of the FCCS surgical book and course and revision of the FCCS OB book and curriculum.
She has received numerous clinical awards including American Association of Nurse Practitioner State Clinical Award of Excellence and Outstanding Nurse Practitioner Circle of Excellence Award from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Dr. Rodgers was the first New Mexico clinician to be inducted as a Fellow into American Association of Nurse Practitioner and in 2008 she was inducted into the American College of Critical Care Medicine where she is currently serving on the ACCM credentials committee. She has also been selected as an Outstanding Alumni at the University of New Mexico. In 2018, she received the New Mexico Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses’ Lifetime Achievement Award.
