I am a Board certified Anesthesiologist and Intensivist with 18 years of clinical experience in academic medicine. I did my residency at the U of Maryland and a CCM fellowship at Columbia University, NY in 2002. I have a special interest in Medical ethics with a Masters from the National University of Singapore. I have a global experience with 8 years of practice in a University affiliated hospital in Asia and am now working at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, which is affiliated with the Harvard University. I have a research interest in sepsis and medical ethics as well as a passion for medical education. I have more than 80 peer reviewed articles and chapters as well as have held multiple funded grants. I am an ardent supporter of women's academic and professional movements, and am a very active member of the American Society of Anesthesia's Critical Care Medicine and Ethics committees and have recently been appointed to the Ethics committee, and the ASA Covid 19 Council. I am also a member of the SCCM's Item writing and Scientific review committees. I am a Member at large of the Women's Knowlege and education group of the SCCM.
My career and personal goals involve enhancing an emotional awareness and ability to harness a compassion for humanity within myself and those whom I can influence. I have been actively involved in the COVID response in various ways and hope to be of some use in the future in achieving a new balanced equilibrium.
