Emily A. Vail MD MSc. is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology & Critical Care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a liver transplant anesthesiologist, intensivist, and health services researcher whose work focuses on the epidemiology and effectiveness of medications used in critically ill patients and systems of care delivery for deceased organ donors. She is the Co-Director of the Penn Center for Perioperative Outcomes Research and Transformation, a Senior Fellow of the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics, and an Editor of the British Journal of Anaesthesia Open.
