Dr. Andrew Prout, MD, MPH is a pediatric intensivist at Children's Hospital of Michigan and Assistant Professor at Central Michigan University College of Medicine. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Michigan and his Pediatric Critical Care fellowship and a T-32 research fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Prout's primary research focus is the long-term impact of sepsis and other inflammatory diseases in children with chronic disease, and the role of the microbiome in acute and chronic immune dysregulation in these children. Dr. Prout is a co-investigator for the Collaborative Pediatric Critical Care Research Network and the site Principal Investigator for several studies within the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators network. Dr. Prout has been a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine since 2016, and has been a regular attendee, presenter, and moderator for Congress since 2019.
