Alison Baker Nair, MD, is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Critical Care, at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She received her medical degree from the University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Medicine after which she completed her residency in pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at UCSF. In addition to working as a pediatric intensivist, she is a translational scientist studying the interaction of the hemostatic and endothelial systems in critical illness. She has received research funding through a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Institutional Research Training Grant (T32), the Thrasher Research Foundation, and the Pediatric Critical Care and Trauma Scientist Development Program K12 award. In addition, she serves on the executive and scientific steering committee for the Pediatric Critical Care Blood Research Network (BloodNet), part of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) Network, and in that role she has focused on advancing research related to thrombosis and hemostasis.
