Julie Jaffray is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Rady Children’s Hospital, UC San Diego. She undertook her pediatric residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, and completed her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the combined Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell program in New York. After completing her fellowship, she spent an additional two years undertaking an advanced fellowship in pediatric hemostasis and thrombosis at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Dr. Jaffray clincial and research time is focused on identifying risk factors and prevention techniques for children with hospital acquired venous thromboembolism (VTE), which she receives NIH funding. She leads a 50+ institution consortium, named Children's Hospital Acquired Thrombosis (CHAT), whose focus is on VTE Prevention. Dr. Jaffray is also President for the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Societies of North America (THSNA).
