Abdullah Alismail, is the Program Director for the Entry-Level Bachelors of Science in Respiratory Care & Master of Science in Respiratory Care Program- Department of Cardiopulmonary Sciences, School of Allied Health Professions, Loma Linda University. Dr. Alismail is an associate professor in both department of cardiopulmonary sciences and the Department of Medicine, school of Medicine, LLU. He earned both his Master of Arts degree and Ph.D from Claremont Graduate University. His work in pulmonary and Chest medicine has been recognized as he is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP). He has also recently been inducted as a Fellow of the American Association for Respiratory Care (FAARC) for his contribution and leadership to the respiratory care profession. Dr. Alismail is a reviewer in many scholarly journals such as: PLoS One, Annals of Internal Medicine, CHEST, Respiratory Care, and others. He is also an associate editor for two journals: 1) BMC Pulmonary Medicine Journal and 2) BMC Medical Education Journal, and an editorial board member in ATS Scholar Journal.
Dr. Alismail is a committee member in several professional societies such as CoBGRTE, CHEST, and ATS. His passion is to advance the field of Respiratory Care as well as understand how learning occurs in clinical settings. As an educator, his passion and interest are within health professions education, clinical studies, and innovation. He published various scholarly articles (click here to view the articles) in Respiratory care, pulmonary medicine, medical education, and innovation. Dr. Alismail enjoys traveling, sports, and reading about the history of civilizations, cultures, and comparative religions.
