Peter Rhee MD is currently the Director of Surgical Critical Care at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY. He is a professor of surgery at City University of New York (CUNY) and the Uniformed Services Univerisity of the Health Sciences (USUHS). He retired as Captain in the US Navy after 24 years of active duty and has been in leadership positions at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta as well as Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla NY. His research interests includes fluid and blood resuscitation, hemostatic agents, Traumatic Brain Injury and Thoracic Trauma. He has published over 400 peer reviewed articles, has 6 book publications and 40 book chapters in basic science as clinical outcomes research. His topic for the current presentation is on small caliber chest tubes for the treatment of pneumothorax and hemothorax.
