Ronald F. Sing, DO, FACS, FCCM is a Professor of Surgery for Atrium Health/Wake Forest University School of Medicine at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. After receiving his Doctor of Osteopathy, he went on to complete a rotating internship at the Metropolitan Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a surgery internship at Abington Memorial Hospital, then went on a complete a surgery residency at the Graduate Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. After finishing a two-year traumatology and surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, he joined the faculty at the Carolinas Medical Center.
Dr. Sing’s clinical interests include shock, resuscitation, sepsis, and venous thromboembolism. He has published works in each of these areas, including pioneering the performance of vena caca filter insertions at the bedside in the intensive care unit.
