Internal Medicine Resident
Cooper University Hospital
Divyesha Patel DO is a PGY-2 Internal Medicine resident currently doing her training at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. She attended medical school at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in Dothan, AL. It was there she found an interest in internal medicine and critical care. She previously did research in the opioid epidemic in southeast Alabama and helped identify subpopulations that were at high risk of opioid overdose. During her rotations, she was drawn to the medical complexities behind pulmonary and critical care cases and continued to pursue those same interests while in residency. Divyesha is currently advocating for safer transfers of care from critical care settings to the medical floor, as patient safety is something she is very passionate about. She is also looking forward to this upcoming year and working with her program evaluation and improvement committee to help her program continue to grow. Divyesha is excited to be back close to her hometown of Philadelphia and has been exploring more of the city each day. Her other interests include watching the Eagles football team as well as being a part of a flag football team herself. She enjoys creating things with her hands through knitting and cooking, watching musicals and dancing, as well as traveling and finding new trails to hike when she can.
