My primary area of clinical focus centers on diagnostic assessment, therapeutic interventions, and innovative research with a specific emphasis on critically ill patients with liver disease. As the Director of the Medical Intensive Liver Unit, I hold the responsibility of overseeing the fluidity of daily operations. A pivotal aspect of my position involves fostering collaboration with a diverse and multidisciplinary team, thereby ensuring comprehensive and integrated patient care. My role encompasses the identification of avenues for clinical enhancement, aimed at upholding the highest standards of care through the implementation of best practices, meticulous protocols, and rigorous standardization measures.
Concurrently, my involvement in academia is characterized by a dedicated pursuit of advancing educational curricula and the implementation of simulation-based pedagogy and research. I am equally dedicated to refining the sphere of comprehensive evaluation methods and constructive feedback for learners. In this capacity, I have taken on the responsibility of leading simulation-driven workshops designed to guide and support faculty members in developing assessments that are firmly rooted in competencies. These workshops are conducted in collaboration with the esteemed Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
My commitment extends to the realm of interprofessional education, where I am actively engaged in the creation of longitudinal interprofessional leadership courses. This multifaceted approach underscores my dedication to fostering collaborative and interdisciplinary educational endeavors.
