Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Sarah Holguin-Marquez is a board certified and doctoral prepared pediatric nurse practitioner. Sarah attended the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio for both her undergraduate studies as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) as well as her graduate studies as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Her experience as a Registered Nurse was primarily in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where she also served as a preceptor and received specialized congenital cardiac care team training.
Throughout the doctoral program, Sarah collaborated with a team of pediatric critical care specialists and managed a quality improvement project titled "Monitoring Continuous Neuromuscular Blockade Use Within a Pediatric ICU: A Quality Improvement Study". Sarah is proud to present this project during the Society of Critical Care Medicine's 2024 Critical Care Congress.
During her graduate years, Sarah gained valuable experience providing care to pediatric patients in various clinical settings, such as primary care, urgent care, gastroenterology, genetics, as well as a pulmonary and sleep center. Since graduating with her DNP degree in 2023, she provides nutritional and physical activity counseling in the San Antonio area and manages the care of pediatric patients with a variety of metabolic disorders.
Sarah's ultimate goal as a healthcare provider is to help others achieve the healthiest version of themselves by empowering future generations to be informed and invested in their well-being through healthy lifestyle choices.
