Research Assistant
University of Toronto, Canada
Byron Koitsopoulos is a 3rd year medical student currently attending the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto while conducting research under Dr. Angela Jerath, a cardiac anesthesiologist and associate professor. He previously completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Ottawa where he spent time as a research assistant involved in novel catalyst design and analysis. Byron’s interests in critical care medicine and quality of sedation have led him to his current project exploring the application of volatile anesthetics in acute care settings. He aspires to apply his findings within the areas of risk assessment, standard of care, and respiratory intervention to develop innovative strategies for improving health outcomes in intubated patients.
