Tracy Thomas, MSN, APRN, CCRN, TCRN, ACNS-BC, is a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Arizona State University in 2005, her Master of Science in Nursing, Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist degree from Grand Canyon University in 2011, and will graduate with her Doctor of Nursing Practice, Innovation Leadership degree from Arizona State University in 2026. She has worked in multiple specialties, including emergency, post-anesthesia care, rapid response, and various specialties within critical care nursing (medical, surgical, neuroscience, trauma, transplant). Her healthcare roles throughout her career have included patient care assistant, clinical nurse, charge nurse, nurse educator, and Advanced Practice Nurse/Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has obtained nursing specialty certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) for adult specialty from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) and Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) from the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN). She is a current Regional Chapter Advisor for AACN, a past president of the Greater Phoenix Area Chapter (GPAC) for AACN, and a past president of Sigma Theta Tau, Nu Upsilon Chapter. Tracy also is a member of the Scope of Practice and Advance Practice Advisory Committees for the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
