I am an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine. I serve as faculty with the Department of Lung Transplantation at the University of Florida.
I obtained my medical degree from Dhaka Medical College in Bangladesh. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. I served as the Chief Resident there before completing the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Albany Medical Center and College in New York. I have also achieved a Certification in Medical Humanities from Drew University in New Jersey. I have been the recipient of multiple awards, including medical student outstanding teaching award and the teaching fellow of the year award.
I have authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles encompassing different aspects of pulmonary and critical care diseases. My research interest revolves around advanced lung disease due to diffuse alveolar hemorrhage, interstitial lung disease, rare lung diseases including idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis, COVID-19, and lung transplantation.
I am a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) and an active member of SCCM. I am also a member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT), American Thoracic Society (ATS), and Extracorporeal life support Organization (ELSO). My clinical interests include Interstitial Lung Disease, lung, heart-lung, and liver-lung transplantations, as well as critical care medicine.
