Dr Puneet Anand, MBBS, an incoming PGY1 Peditrics resident, is currently serving as the Education and Research Co-Chair for the American Medical Women's Association - Physicians Against Trafficking Humans committee. Her commitment to health equity began in medical school when she founded a student-based volunteering organization to improve healthcare access for underserved communities. Previous leadership roles have allowed her to be a reliable ally and advocate for her patients at risk. Through her work as an educator and advocate, Puneet hopes to make a tangible difference in the lives of survivors of trafficking, those with disabilities and limited access to healthcare, in reaching a more equitable healthcare system for the most vulnerable in society. She is currently pursuing a residency in Pediatrics with a focus on enhancing healthcare outcomes for vulnerable populations, including victims of child abuse, immigrant communities, and individuals with disabilities.
