Jason Nam MD (Major, US Army) is a third-year Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Fellow at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Prior to fellowship, he was the Medical Director of a small US military forward Damage Control Resuscitation (DCR) which supported Special Operations in two combat deployments, Syria and Afghanistan. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD and a Fellow in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM). He first became interested in burn care when taking care of several severely burned casualties during a major counter-ISIS offensive in Eastern Syria. His research and career interests center on doing critical care medicine in remote and austere resource-limited locations.
