Roland N. Dickerson, Pharm.D., BCNSP, FCCP, FASHP, FCCM, FASPEN is a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Science at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and Clinical Coordinator/Clinical Pharmacist with the Nutrition Support Service at Regional One Health in Memphis, TN. Dr. Dickerson received his B.S. in Pharmacy from Temple University, Pharm.D. degree from the University of Tennessee, completed a pharmacy residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and a fellowship in pharmacy nutrition support at the University of North Carolina. His research focuses on the metabolic support of critically ill patients. Dr. Dickerson has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters of which many have led to improvements in the clinical care of patients who require parenteral or enteral nutrition therapy. He has received multiple prestigious awards including the Sustained Contributions to the Literature award from American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Clinical Practice award from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, John M. Kinney International Award in General Nutrition from the Nestle Nutrition Institute, and the Jonathan Rhoads Research Lecture, Excellence in Nutrition Support Education, Distinguished Nutrition Support Pharmacist, and Stanley Serlick awards from the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. Dr. Dickerson serves on the editorial boards of Nutrition in Clinical Practice, Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, and Nutrients.
