Aldin Malkoc, M.D., M.S. is a resident physician training in General Surgery. Originally from Bosnia, Aldin attended Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University where he graduated with a BSE in Biomedical Engineering and wrote his undergraduate thesis on learning modalities in biomedical engineering courses. From there he went on to earn an MS in Biomedical Engineering and wrote his thesis on enhanced management of diabetes mellitus and point-of-care detection of insulin. While at Arizona State University, Aldin was a research assistant for 6 years and focused his research in areas of Engineering Education, Hospital Chart Data Cohort Analysis, and Proof-of-Concept biosensor development. Aldin was also an engineering tutor for 5 years, tutoring a wide range of courses and working with a variety of students. Aldin attended St. George’s University School of Medicine and graduated in the top 5% of his class with Distinction in Research and scholarly activity. At St. George's University, he received the Morris Alpert Upperclassmen Academic Scholarship Award, was a member of the Student Government Association (SGA), Medical Student Research Institute (MSRI), and Gold Humanism Honor Society. He has an immense passion for medical research and has worked on over 65+ abstracts, posters, and publications. Outside of academia, his interests include cooking, hiking outdoors with his dogs, and powerlifting.
