Jose Fernandez is currently a second-year internal medicine resident at HCA Healthcare Kendall Hospital, driven by a deep-seated passion for medicine. Originating from Cuba, I immigrated to the United States in 2011 and pursued education diligently.
Following high school, I obtained an Associate Degree in Pre-Medical Science from Miami Dade College and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics in 2015. Subsequently, I completed my Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from UNIBE School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic in 2021, where I also pursued a minor in Tropical Medicine and engaged in research endeavors.
Commencing an Internal Medicine Residency at HCA Healthcare Kendall Hospital in 2022, I discovered a keen interest in Critical Care Medicine. This experience sparked my enthusiasm to further specialize in this field and contribute meaningfully to patient care and medical research. I am eagerly preparing to apply for a Critical Care Fellowship during the upcoming 2024 match, aiming to deepen my expertise and make impactful contributions in this area.
