Michael Ting Grassi, MD, FAAP is a second-year pediatric critical care medicine fellow at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. He is from Norman, OK and attended the University of Oklahoma for his undergraduate education, where he received a BS in microbiology and a BA in Spanish. He then attended the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine where he received an MD before completing a residency in pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences/Arkansas Children's, where he received the Dr. Edith Irby Jones Excelence in Diversity and Inclusion Award. His research interests include the effects of thrombocytopenia in pediatric patients on ECMO. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his cat Husker, bicycling, cooking, trivia nights, and playing bluegrass violin, guitar, mandolin, and banjo.
