Dr. Raghavan Murugan, MD, MS, FRCP, FCCM, FCCP, is a Professor of Critical Care Medicine, Faculty in the Center for Critical Care Nephrology and Chief of Critical Care Medicine & Medical Director, Critical Care Unit at the Magee Women's Hospital, UPMC. Dr. Murugan’s research include various aspects of critical care nephrology including acute kidney injury, renal replacement therapy, biomarkers and fluid overload. He employs a highly innovative and paradigm-shifting approaches from epidemiology and translational methods to develop and examine new hypotheses. He is a recipient of the National Institute of Health’s KL2 career development award, an R01 to study biomarkers in contrast-associated acute kidney injury as well as several other industry grants.
