Dr. Mahmoud A. Ammar, PharmD, BCCCP, BCPS, is the Senior Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Ammar is the PGY-2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program Director at Yale New Haven Hospital and Adjunct Faculty at the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy. He completed his PharmD degree at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and his Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to moving to Connecticut, he practiced as a Critical Care Pharmacist at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Ammar’s primary research interests include therapies in acute respiratory distress syndrome and the use of resuscitation fluids and vasopressors in the management of septic shock.
