Marcella Leath, DNP, AGACNP-BC, ACCNP-AG, RN is one of the University of California San Francisco Surgical and Critical Care APP Fellows for 2023-2024. Marcella graduated with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Maryland, Baltimore where she also received her Certificate in Global Health Nursing and was a President’s Fellow for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. As a nurse for 11 years, Marcella gained valuable work experience in Surgery and Critical Care medicine, Organ Transplantation as an Organ Recovery Coordinator, Immunosuppressant research, and Public and Global Health nursing during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has long been an advocate for patients and nurses through her work with professional nursing organizations on the state and national level as a member of Legislative Committees for MNA, NPAM, and ANA and hopes to remain politically active through the California nurse and nurse practitioner associations. She hopes one day to become a professor of nursing, while staying clinically relevant.
