Edsel Embry, MD is a resident physician in the department of Internal Medicine at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton, California. He expects to complete his residency training in June 2025.
Dr. Embry serves on the Critical Care Committee at St. Joseph's Medical Center. He also serves as his cohort's representative in the Internal Medicine Residency Program Evaluation Committee at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Dr. Embry is an active member of the local and national chapters of the American College of Physicians, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and American Thoracic Society.
For over 10 years, Dr. Embry has been committed to working closely with vulnerable populations. He was one of the founding members of the Global Brigades chapter at San Francisco State University. Dr. Embry has also worked closely with the homeless and immigrant Filipinx populations of San Francisco.
Dr. Embry is passionate about improving health outcomes in the intensive care unit. He also has great interest in patient education on asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the most disadvantaged communities of Stockton, currently volunteering his professional support to Little Manila Rising in Stockton. His current research focuses on decreasing mortality and morbidity in high-risk pulmonary embolism. Dr. Embry is an aspiring critical care physician. He embraces the challanges and the lifetime of learning that are associated with critical care medicine.
