Melissa Mae De Guzman is a third-year medical student at Kansas City University (KCU). Throughout her pre-clinical years, Melissa has actively participated in research focusing on the utilization of phospholipid nanoparticles in the context of hemorrhagic and septic shock, conducted under the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine. Concurrently, she is also pursuing a master’s degree in bioethics from KCU due to her passion for medical ethics. In her leisure time, Melissa dedicates herself to volunteering at the Kansas City Pet Project animal shelter. She also enjoys fitness training and the special art of coffee-making.
