Anjali Garg is a pediatric critical care and T32 fellow at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Garg obtained a degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan and graduated from medical school at Michigan State University. She completed her pediatric residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, where her interest and passion for health disparities research started and led her to pursue a career in pediatric critical care. Her research and advocacy work in residency focused on the trafficking of domestic minors and the role of health care providers in providing trauma sensitive and equitable care. Through her research and advocacy work, Dr. Garg has summarized barriers to healthcare present for trafficked youth and educated pediatric trainees on signs of human trafficking and next steps for intervention. During fellowship, she has continued work in health disparities with a focus on critically ill children. Most recently, Dr. Garg was awarded a Pediatric Cardiopulmonary and Critical Care NIH T32 grant and is currently a PhD candidate at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her T32 research focuses on characterizing health disparities in pediatric rehabilitation post intensive care stay.
