Connecticut Childrens Medical Center
Megan Kabara, DO is a third year pediatrics resident at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Megan is from the Midwest where she did her undergradute education at Oakland University in Rochester, MI and from there went to complete medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, MI.
A career in pediatrics has always been a goal for Megan since medical school. Her love of working with the pediatric population and interest in acute care medicine grew into her passion for pediatric critical care. She enjoys the pathophysiology and the ability to see the changes one can make in their patient's medical journey.
From her time in the PICU she developed an interest towards acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and how it is managed. This helped to cultivate her questions towards the use of non-invasive modes of ventilation specifically high flow nasal cannula and how it can be better used.
Dr. Kabara hopes to continue to grow and develop in the field of ARDS and help contribute to respiratory medicine. She will be starting her first year as a pediatric critial care fellow at the Univeristy of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI in July of 2024.
