Ann and Robert H Lurie Childrens Hospital of Chicago
My name is Colleen Badke, MD, MPH and I am a pediatric intensivist at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine who is committed to using a data-driven approach to develop and implement real-time prediction models that can identify clinical deterioration, risk-stratify critically ill children, and support medical decision making. Specifically, my work analyzes continuous, high-frequency physiological variables like heart rate variability (HRV) as a way to improve our prediction of clinical trajectory. I am passionate about the early detection of clinical deterioration because I believe that if we detect a worsening trajectory with enough advance notice, we can prevent avoidable morbidity and mortality in critically ill children.
