Prof Jayashree is Chief, Division of Pediatric Emergency and Intensive Care at the Advanced Pediatrics Centre, PGIMER Chandigarh India. She has intensive care experience of more than 28 years. She was involved in curriculum planning of the first Post Doctoral program (DM) in Pediatric Critical Care in India. She was instrumental in starting two fellowship courses viz Pediatric Critical Care Nursing Fellowship and Pediatric Resuscitation and Emergency Fellowship in the Department of Pediatrics. Her research interest includes DKA, antimicrobial resistance & stewardship, fluids and electrolytes, healthcare associated infections, quality improvement and capacity building. She is currently the Asian Representative of WFPICCS (2022-2024) and member of PACCMAN Executive and Scientific Committee (2023 – 2025). A multi-faceted training module developed by her and her team named ‘IMPACT’ (Integrated Module for Pediatric Acute Care Training) for training healthcare providers at grassroot levels, won the SCCM Innovation in Education Award 2021. She is the Principal Investigator for Centre of Advanced Research in Pediatric Emergency Care funded by ICMR New Delhi. She is the Chairperson of COVID 19 Committee of her Department and was member of several National taskforces Govt of India that formulated operational guidelines for setting up Pediatric COVID facilities and management guidelines for COVID and MISC. She has published more than 125 papers in peer reviewed national and international journals. She was awarded the FCCM (2021) for her contribution to Pediatric Critical Care. She was also awarded the SCCM Vidyasagar and Nagamani Dharmapuri Award (2023) for excellence in Pediatric Intensive care. She is member of editorial board of PCCM and reviewer for several National and International journals
