Dr. Michaela Lynne Murphy, MD is a Pulmonary Critical Care Fellow from the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Murphy attended undergraduate at Fordham University with a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences and a minor in Political Science. She subsequently attended St. George’s University School of Medicine where she was honored with the Chancellor’s Legacy of Excellence Scholarship and graduated Magna cum Laude. Dr. Murphy then pursued Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital where she was recognized with excellence in clinical documentation as well as acted as an elected representative of the resident advisory panel. Given her accolades, she was then selected by her program director as Chief Medical Resident. During this time, she performed qualitative research with Weill Cornell’s Pulmonary Critical Care Department in COPD, which has since been published in the Annals of the American Thoracic Society. Currently, Dr. Murphy holds certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in the field of Internal Medicine. Presently, she is a second-year fellow at the University of Miami Jackson Health System with interests in Interstitial Lung Disease, Critical Care and COPD Biomarkers. Since her days as a Division 1 athlete at Fordham University, Dr. Murphy has been an avid soccer player and continues to play as much as possible in the beautiful Miami weather as well as spend time with her family in Massachusetts.
