Matthew D Taylor, MD is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Director of Research in the Department of Pediatric Critical Care at Cohen Children's Medical Center and the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research of Northwell Health in New York. Dr. Taylor completed his medical education and residency at the University of Pittsburgh and the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He completed fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2017 and has been working with Dr. Clifford Deutschman at the Feinstein Institute since that time studying the role of prior immune experience in the response to sepsis utilizing the both primary human samples and murine modeling. Dr. Taylor was awarded an NIH K08 Research Career Development Award through the National Institute of General Medical Sciences for his work. He has been a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine since 2014 and is active on the Scientific Review Committee for SCCM. His laboratory focuses on the role of T cell activation in modulating organ dysfunction in sepsis and how T cell responses change from the neonatal period into adulthood.
