I am Muazzam Muhammed Amin, a Physician previously licensed in Nigeria, an internal medicine residency applicant, and an Associate Member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Originally from Pakistan, I grew up in Nigeria and completed my medical education at Bayero University Kano. Following my graduation, I served as a General Practitioner at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where I held the position of a medical officer. Additionally, I worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Department at Khalifa Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu Pediatric Hospital in Kano. My commitment to community health is evident through my leadership in organizing a breast cancer awareness and screening campaign in Kano, as well as conducting hypertension screenings in low-income communities and tackling protein energy malnutrition in Kano State, Nigeria.
Upon moving to the United States, I completed the USMLE. My interest in academic writing is fueled by a curiosity about enhancing patient comfort and well-being. Critical care medicine, with its potential for improvement, has captivated my enthusiasm, and I am eager to contribute to its advancement. My passion for technology and artificial intelligence, stemming from an initial interest in engineering, drives me to explore efficient ways to integrate these fields with medicine.
Currently, I am in the process of launching a mobile phone application aimed at reducing readmissions in heart failure patients, with plans to expand its scope to include COPD.
Outside of my professional pursuits, I indulge in long-distance drives, sketching cars, designing medical devices, and exploring my culinary interests through cooking. These diverse activities contribute to my well-rounded perspective and fuel my commitment to making meaningful contributions to the field of critical care medicine.
