Dr. Bria J. Rice, M.D. is a second year cardiovascular disease fellow at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She obtained her bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Howard University and her medical doctorate from the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC on academic scholarship. There she served as a public health advocate for the organization Peer Health Exchange and was selected as a Centers for Disease Control Ferguson Infectious Disease Research Fellow. She subsequently completed internal medicine training at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona where she discovered her passion for cardiology. After cardiology fellowship, she aims to pursue advanced training in heart failure and transplant medicine or electrophysiology.
