Dr. Richard Riker MD, FCCM is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, and Neurocritical Care and is a Professor of Medicine and Director of Medical Critical Care at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. He participated in the 2002, 2013, and 2018 SCCM task forces to revise practice guidelines for ICU sedation and analgesia, has received awards for teaching excellence by the Departments of Medicine (twice), Emergency Medicine, and Family Medicine, and has three best research presentation awards from the SCCM (1990, 2007, 2009). He lives on the coast of Maine with his wife Alison and Penny, the all-star Labrador Retriever.
