After receiving her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy, Christy Smith completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME, and a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. After residency, Christy continued on as a clinical pharmacist in the pediatric and cardiothoracic intensive care units at Children’s National Medical Center and received pediatric board certification in 2015. Following this, Christy served on the pediatric pulmonology service at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital in Loma Linda, California for five years. Christy joined the pediatric critical care pharmacy service at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, WA in 2021, and received critical care board certification the same year. Christy’s clinical interests include pain, sedation, ICU liberation, and antimicrobial management, and she is passionate about improving the care of critically ill pediatric patients through research, education, and pharmacy advocacy. In her free time, Christy enjoys hiking, skiing, and traveling the world with her husband and two kids Olive (age 7) and Ansel (age 5).
