Cheryl Sargel, PharmD., BCCCP, is an Advanced Patient Care Pharmacist in the Pediatric Critical Care Unit at Nationwide Children's Hospital, in Columbus, Ohio. She has earned her PharmD degree from The Ohio State University and completed her PGY1 and PGY2 Pediatrics residencies at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her current acedemic interests are focued in pediatric critical care, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, renal replacment therapies, acute kidney injuries, and antimicrobial utilization. She is currently the local co-chairman of Nephrotoxic Acute Kidney Injury reduction collaborative, as well the pharmacist lead for the Acute Kidney Injury commitee at Nationwide Children's. She is the lead author of Roger's Textbook of Pediatric Intensive Care chapter on Principles of Antimicrobial Therapy. Additionally, she has served as the pediatric pharmacotherapy content expert in the early stages of SCCM's Learn ICU working group.
