Dr. Yang Liu holds the position of Professor of Critical Care Medicine at Yangzhou University in Jiangsu Province, China. As an intensivist and the Chief, he actively practices in the General Intensive Care Unit at Nanjing Gaochun People’s Hospital, China. After earning his Bachelor of Medicine from Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin, China, Dr. Liu completed internal medicine residency training and fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Characteristic Medical Center of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (Tianjin, China). He further underwent advanced physiological training at the University Medical Center, Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany. Dr. Liu has earned both a master’s degree and a doctoral degree (Doctor of Medicine) from Tianjin Medical University. These degrees were conferred based on the successful completion of a postgraduate thesis defense and the publication of original research as a first author in a high-quality, peer-reviewed scientific journal. His research interests span cardiopulmonary physiology, heart-lung interactions, predictive analytics, respiratory and hemodynamic monitoring, and assessment of volume status in critically ill patients. With a significant academic contribution, Dr. Liu has edited five medical textbooks, authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications, contributed to more than 20 chapters, and supported over 20 abstract presentations. Since 2019, he has been a selected member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).
